Total Lunar Eclipse – January 21, 2019

Scroll down to content

A wonderful astro event.

Had to drive for a while to find a clear sky location, and while the local temperature went from -4 to -7 Celsius, the only annoying factor was the fog. Despite these factors, the eclipse looked wonderful, with a low contrast Moon (mostly due to the fog) hanging above the horizon. On the opposite side of the eclipse another nice event was occurring: the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter.

My gear: Canon 6D with Canon 70-200 f/4 L lens, and Canon 550D on a 115mm F/7 APO Refractor.
