Sunspot groups AR2396 and AR2394 – August 9

After almost 7 months of inactivity I’ve finally managed to acquire some solar images with my new ASI120MM-S camera. Average seeing conditions but the beauty of AR2396 passed through the atmosphere and entered the lenses of the 115mm F/8 APO refractor working at F/25 and F/50.

The following images present AR2396 and a smaller group (2394). There is also a small animation of the evolution of AR2396 in just 30 minutes. Notice the main spot’s penumbra evolution.
