Yes, I had, again, the pleasure to find the Apollo! My favorite insect of them all!
Another trip to Bulgaria, with the same team as for last year’s expedition.
This time I’ve choose the Rhodope Mountains instead of Pirin. And it was a very good choice 😉
The very first day we arrived in the area we found about 20 individuals of Parnassius apollo, while the second one was the best day in all of my insect observing years: almost 300 individuals observed in 4 hours!
This post shall be divided in two parts: one with pics from my mobile phone showing the shots for each day of the trip, and the second part with some selected shots done with the DSLR.
Part I – “mobile” shots
Day 1 – “arrival”
Day 2 – “the show”
Day 3 – “the end”
Part II- DSLR gallery
Hope to meet this beautiful butterfly next year again!
