The Omega Nebula (Messier 17) – September 12, 2018

Scroll down to content

Just a bit of play with this object…Not enough time to get a proper image, and a few issues with passing clouds and with the guiding laptop out in the field, so…not much data acquired. I had to reject 6 frames due to tracking errors or clouds. Still, the general shape of the nebula is seen. Next session will surely be better 🙂

Equipment: TS 115mm F/7 APO, TS FF, Baader 7nm H-alpha filter, ASI 1600MM. Gain 150, Gamma 60. Only 9 exposures of 3 mins each. 1 dark. Guiding with PHD2, a 50mm finderscope and ASI 174MM.
