Comet Catalina – December 22, 2015

Scroll down to content

Just finished processing a very fresh image of comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) acquired at -3 degrees Celsius with the small 65mm refractor. It may not be the final result, but I don’t have the time for now to do a nice processing.

The interesting shape of the ion tail (towards the left in the image) is better shown in the inset, which is a highly processed version of the larger image.

Hopefully next session will be under decent skies, without light pollution (like those at my location).
